Museum for Papirkunst
Museum for Papirkunst is the Nordics’ only specialised museum for art, craft and design in paper.
Paper is a fascinating material, playing a central role in our everyday lives. The delicate sheets, often made from wood, have for centuries bound people and cultures together and made it possible to embed laws, religions and historical events. But the diverse material has countless possibilities and can be used for much more than what we commonly associate it with. It is also the basis for great art: Psaligraphy, origami, découpage, sculpture, and other impressive forms of expression
Time for reflection
Museum for Papirkunst was established in 2018 by internationally recognised psaligrapher Bit Vejle. The foundation-owned museum consists of 5 galleries with a total area of 830m2, which houses a core exhibition with works by Bit Vejle and changing exhibitions of art, design, and crafts in paper. In addition, the museum houses a paper workshop, a café, and a museum shop.
Museum for Papirkunst wants to be a breathing space where calm and reflection take centre stage. A place where you can stop, forget time, and just let yourself be carried away. At Museum for Papirkunst, you will experience world-class slow art. An art form that takes time - to master, perform, and observe.
